Description:
The Archive Browser, application from the creators of The Unarchiver, lets you easily peek into the archive, find the files you need, preview and extract them without unarchiving everything. Quick Look any file or folder and open them right from the archive.
It is based on The Unarchiver, which means it can handle a large number of different archive formats: It can handle common formats like Zip, RAR, 7-zip, Tar, Gzip and Bzip2, as well as older formats like StuffIt, DiskDoubler, LZH, ARJ and ARC. It can also handle other kinds of formats, like CD and DVD images such as ISO, BIN, MDF, NRG and CDI, many Windows self-extracting EXE files, and can even extract media from Flash SWF files. It will also handle different filename encodings gracefully. It supports password protected archives.
For the curious, it will also show you a lot of information about the archives and their contents.

* Minor bug fixes

Provisionally useful; still happy with The Unarchiver - The only times I've really wished for a UI to The Unarchiver have been when I was working with uncommon archive types, like a Windows EXE or some kind of BIN file. With only the Unarchiver, you just extracted and hoped something good would happen, but now with The Archive Browser, you can see what you're working with before attempting extraction. Also very useful, as advertised, is the ability to drag out individual files. Again, I find this most useful for non-standard archive types. The Unarchiver will continue to be my default application for some 99% of archive types, but this is a really great secondary tool that still supports all of the intelligent options somehow missing in the other standard archive managers, such as auto folder creation for archives [never/always/only-if-multiple-top-level-items]. A godsend.
Browser screen does not work for large archives (50 MBytes or more) - The Archive Browser screen works fine with very small zip files (500 KB or 1 MB); but it gets stucked with larger files.I have tested it with several zip files I have (50 MB, 300 MB, 550 MB) and it is not possible to see its contents, on the left panel you see a label 'Reading archive contents…' but it does not finish…I try to double click on the grid, but it is frozen.I just purchased from the AppStore, I´ve been robbed.

Favorite archive tool - I’ve used this for years and love the app.The app is quick and light. Additionally, I can take a detailed look at the contents of an archive before extracting. Not only that, the app allows me to quickly and easily extract the whole or individual parts of an archive without issue.I recommend this app withour reservation. You won't be dissappointed.

The Unarchiver is a small and easy to use program that can unarchive many different kinds of archive files. It will open common formats such as Zip, RAR (including v5), 7-zip, Tar, Gzip and Bzip2. It will also open many older formats, such as StuffIt, DiskDoubler, LZH, ARJ and ARC. It will even open other kinds of files, like ISO and BIN disc images, some Windows .EXE installers. The list is actually much longer - see the program homepage for the full list.
The Unarchiver also tries to detect and correctly handle the filename encoding in the archives it opens, allowing you to open files from every part of the world without getting garbled filenames.
The Unarchiver aims to be the only unarchiving program you will ever need, and to stay out of your way.
Also, if you need to open archives on your iPad or iPhone, look for 'Archives' on the App Store, or go to https://theunarchiver.com/archives. It is based on The Unarchiver, and lets you easily handle Archives on iOS!
What’s New
The Unarchiver goes dark. We adopted the new Mojave Dark Mode so your archive management could become much more stylish.
Fixed:
• Extraction speed for most archives is now much better
• The Unarchiver is not going to confuse separate archives with similar names and multipart archives anymore
• Direct warc.gz extraction is now supported along with a fix for some specific warc archives. Thanks, tsudoko
• Some specific 7-Zip archives are now handled correctly. Thanks @pavel_urusov
• RAR self-extracting archives are now handled correctly
• Large zip files extraction problem fixed
• Italian localization fixed
